Lorsque vous lirez ceci, vous aurez d\u00e9j\u00e0 surv\u00e9cu aux premiers jours de ce qui pourrait \u00eatre la semaine la plus chaude jamais enregistr\u00e9e, avec des pics jusqu\u2019\u00e0 37 degr\u00e9s mercredi et jeudi. Mais \u00e0 partir de quand fait-il trop chaud pour travailler ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cela d\u00e9pend en premier lieu de la p\u00e9nibilit\u00e9 de la charge de travail physique. Pour un travail \u00ab l\u00e9ger \u00e0 tr\u00e8s l\u00e9ger \u00bb, le seuil est fix\u00e9 \u00e0 29 \u00b0C ; pour un travail \u00ab moyennement lourd \u00bb, \u00e0 26 \u00b0C ; pour un travail \u00ab lourd \u00bb \u00e0 22 \u00b0C et pour un travail \u00ab tr\u00e8s lourd \u00bb \u00e0 18 \u00b0C. C\u2019est le m\u00e9decin du travail qui \u00e9value la p\u00e9nibilit\u00e9, mais le SPF Emploi, Travail et Concertation sociale donne sur son site quelques exemples : travail de secr\u00e9tariat (tr\u00e8s l\u00e9ger), travail manuel \u00e0 une table (l\u00e9ger), travail debout (moyennement lourd), travaux de terrassement (tr\u00e8s lourd). La plupart des fonctions dans l\u2019horeca peuvent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00eatre class\u00e9es comme moyennement lourdes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avec les temp\u00e9ratures de cette semaine poussant votre thermom\u00e8tre \u00e0 ses limites, la norme pour un travail moyennement lourd semble donc largement d\u00e9pass\u00e9e, mais ce n\u2019est pas si simple. On se base ici sur les valeurs WBGT, le Wet Bulb Globe Temperature. Celui-ci ne se mesure pas avec un simple thermom\u00e8tre domestique. Il faut utiliser un \u00ab thermom\u00e8tre globe mouill\u00e9 \u00bb. Il est peu probable que vous en ayez un dans votre tiroir. Le WBGT tient compte, en plus de la temp\u00e9rature, de l\u2019humidit\u00e9 de l\u2019air, de la vitesse de l\u2019air (vent, courants d\u2019air), ainsi que du rayonnement solaire et de la chaleur rayonn\u00e9e par les objets environnants. L\u2019orientation du b\u00e2timent, le nombre de fen\u00eatres et la pr\u00e9sence de syst\u00e8mes de ventilation jouent \u00e9galement un r\u00f4le. Les valeurs indiqu\u00e9es par un tel thermom\u00e8tre globe mouill\u00e9 sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement de cinq \u00e0 dix degr\u00e9s inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0 celles d\u2019un thermom\u00e8tre normal. Plus l\u2019air est sec, par exemple, plus la temp\u00e9rature doit \u00eatre \u00e9lev\u00e9e pour d\u00e9passer les valeurs maximales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lorsque les valeurs WBGT ci-dessus sont d\u00e9pass\u00e9es, ce qui peut varier entre des espaces int\u00e9rieurs et, par exemple, une terrasse, cela ne signifie pas encore qu\u2019il est interdit de travailler. Il faudra toutefois prendre le plus rapidement possible des mesures appropri\u00e9es. Par ailleurs, il n\u2019est pas n\u00e9cessaire d\u2019attendre le d\u00e9passement des seuils pour agir. Souvent, la chaleur est d\u00e9j\u00e0 ressentie comme inconfortable par les travailleurs avant m\u00eame que les valeurs limites soient atteintes, surtout lors des premi\u00e8res vagues de chaleur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ces mesures peuvent notamment inclure :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 la mise \u00e0 disposition d\u2019\u00e9quipements de protection tels que lunettes de soleil, cr\u00e8me solaire, pare-soleil, couvre-chefs, etc., pour les travailleurs expos\u00e9s directement au rayonnement solaire ;
\u00b7 la fourniture gratuite de boissons rafra\u00eechissantes en quantit\u00e9 suffisante, de pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence non sucr\u00e9es, non gazeuses et sans alcool ;
\u00b7 l\u2019installation d\u2019un syst\u00e8me de ventilation sur le lieu de travail ;
\u00b7 l\u2019introduction de pauses suppl\u00e9mentaires. Pour un travail moyennement lourd, la recommandation est une pause de 15 minutes par heure \u00e0 27 \u00b0WBGT et de 30 minutes \u00e0 partir de 28 \u00b0WBGT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le fait que vos employ\u00e9s puissent soudain venir travailler en short, t-shirt sans manches et chaussures ouvertes d\u00e9pend des r\u00e8gles vestimentaires que vous imposez vous-m\u00eame. En cuisine, il faut \u00e9videmment tenir compte de certaines r\u00e8gles de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
